I am excited to welcome you to my new music website, with announcements about upcoming Songwriter Showcase Concerts and song releases, access to hear and download my recordings and lyrics, and ways to collaborate with other songwriters and musicians to make your music creations the best they can be and get them heard!
Songwriter Showcase Concerts
The purpose of the Songwriter Showcase Concerts (SSCs) is to provide a curated forum where music artists from the Lake Tahoe region and the listening public can come together in an intimate setting to enjoy high-quality live music with their friends and associates, and where the public can support local creators to present songs not heard elsewhere and provide feedback to the artists. The SSC proceeds on the basis that entertainment is a basic human need, and seeks to fill a niche to provide a richer, live music experience for the listener than is generally available locally, or available through the mainstream streaming media and the club circuit, or the large concert. Meet Tahoe Al
Recording artist, guitar stylist, lyricist and scientist-engineer Alan Miller brings a diverse collection of music and lyrics together following his early training with world-class recording artists at the Guitar Institute of Technology (Musician’s Institute) in Hollywood.
With a long career as an environmental engineer and activist in the Eastern Sierra, Tahoe Al is energized to create, collaborate and share with others to express the love of life, the experiences he has learned from, and to uplift all with his passions for music and creative self-expression.

Currently Tahoe Al curates (and performs!) the Songwriter Showcase Concerts & Open Mic nights 3-4 times a year at Unity at The Lake.

Alan Miller Band – 2014
Live at the Valhalla Boathouse
Tahoe Al led The Alan Miller Trio/Quartet for several years, inspired by former teacher and guitar-great Ron Eschete, performing classic jazz standards from the Great American Songbook. This video, live at the historic Valhalla Boathouse Theater at South Lake Tahoe, captures a stylized performance of Gershwin’s “Summertime” by the Trio (Dory Smith, Steve Katzman).
